My favorite attraction for over 40 years at the NC State Fair. The Village of yesterday!
Below are a few images of working hands and faces.
Some of the best crafts and folk art in NC are on exhibit in the Holshouser building within the fairgrounds each year.
The Village of Yesterday was founded in 1951. A "working artists" village that features traditional heritage hand crafts. Demonstrations are performed using skills that, for many, have been passed down for generations.
The craftspeople create an exciting learning experience for the young and old. They wear period costumes and continuously talk about and demonstrate their craft.
