VIKING TAVERN REALTIME WIP
Let me share you my most significant personal project. It was inspired by Alexey ‘s concept art & '' How to train your dragon '' produced by Dreamworks, so I decided on my free time to make this tavern on Blender / Zbrush / Marmoset.

STORYTELLING
After seeing this concept, I was obsessed to turn it as a 3D model. I would like to imagine a small animate storyteller about a '' Viking Culture''. I thought about drunk character design sleeping on his tavern, sadly after some loss of his family.

3D MODEL PART & MATERIAL PRODUCTION
ZBRUSH PART
Firstly, the most important to me was to translate this 2D concept art into a perfect match 3D model. I kept the right to change small detail or model according to my storytelling.
I totally changed the axe model, create a new Pint of beer and refine the bear model. All of my work needed some reference. I used Zbrush software for that.
MATERIAL PART
As 3D Art Director, I have to improve my 3D modeling, lighting & Material skills all time.
Used substance designer was so proficient for me. When you started a big personal project like this, placing the right energy in the right place is so much important avoiding waste your time.
Substance Designer allows me to get a powerful and dynamic workflow. It helps me to adjust every details all-time faster than I though.
LIGHTING & COMPOSITION RULES
Made a beautiful image need to evolve through the lighting's powers and composition rule. As far as I remember, I always wanted to make some fair shot and tell a story or create a feeling which could get some impact.
Even if I am not a concept artist, I drew all time as far I remember. 3D workflows were revolutionary for me. It allowed me to bring ideas to life. According to the time and experience, I understood that I don't have to do everything.

It 's so fantastic to see how a basic 3D model could be more and tell us so much more with a proper and straightforward lighting composition.

Lighting is not just three-light, such as a studio. Playing with light doesn't bring only the atmosphere, but they contribute so much on the storytelling of your scene. How the lighting could highlight your stuff, history, atmosphere and add some magical, cinematic, fairy feeling etc
NEXT STEP :
Find the right character design ! and starting a storyboard artist for animation.
Thinking deeply on history, interactivity and think about web integration.
