Viewpoint: 2021 Wish List

1. Rioters will fill the streets of every small, medium and large city waving signs that say BLM - Blue Lives Matter. Law enforcement, first responders, and medical people in the trenches will get pats on the back, sincere thank you, and genuine appreciation.

2. Rioters will rarely fill the streets in small, medium and large cities destroying property, wrecking businesses, and throwing sucker punches at innocent people but when they do, they will be punished to the full extent of the law.

3. Minimum wage goes away and the amount of money a person earns will be based on their skill set, their attitude, and their desire to make a difference in whatever trade they select. Merit will rule the economic ladder.

4. Voting is in person only at a polling place - no mail balloting except for troops. ID is required. No voting machines, you mark a ballot which is counted by one Republican and one Democrat and verified and tallied the same way.

5. Only bad guys wear masks.

6. ZOOM is what little boys do on the kitchen floor with a race car - Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!

7. The law applies the same to everyone: Politicians, police, billionaires, ghetto dwellers, gender confused, gender certain, sons of politicians in Russia, everyone.

8. I never see an unsigned letter or an anonymous vile comment again. Everyone should be proud enough of their verbal proclivity to sign their name to it, don’t you think?

9. My grand children and other people’s grand children spend the majority of their school time learning reading, writing and arithmetic, with some computer thrown in. They say the pledge of allegiance and pray. They don’t learn revised history, sex education, and don’t have sensitivity training. Teachers teach and don’t try to replace parents.

10. Even stupid Americans are allowed to cast a ballot - but only one.

11. Hugs are back in and elbow bumps follow the path of plaid pants, the Edsel, and mood rings.

12. As a society we once again work harder to save babies, nurture babies, and care for babies – not kill babies.

13. We abandon social media in droves and replace it with actually talking to people face to face.

14. The Bible continues to be the #1 best seller of all time, only now people not only have one on the coffee table but read, study and to the best of their human ability, live it.

15. The federal government goes back to the basics in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution. They are given powers which include the power to coin money, to regulate commerce, to declare war, to raise and maintain armed forces, and to establish a Post Office.

16. Finally, may all of us who believe in America become involved. In the words of President Teddy Roosevelt, “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

Strive to make 2021 better than 2020.
