Vietnam has emerged as one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in Southeast Asia, with a thriving startup ecosystem and a rapidly expanding IT industry. As the country continues to attract significant foreign investment and international tech companies, there is a growing demand for talented software developers.
In this report, we will explore the current state of Vietnamese developer salaries, taking into account various factors that affect compensation such as skills, experience, location, and industry trends.
The average salary of front-end developers has increased from around $500-$1200 in 2020 to $700-$1500 in 2022. Meanwhile, the average salary of back-end developers has also increased from around $800-$1500 in 2020 to $1000-$2000 in 2022. Full-stack developers, who have both front-end and back-end skills, have also seen an increase in their average salary from around $1000-$2000 in 2020 to $1200-$2500 in 2022.
The average salary of iOS developers has increased from around $700-$1500 in 2020 to $1000-$2000 in 2022. Meanwhile, the average salary of Android developers has increased from around $500-$1200 in 2020 to $800-$1500 in 2022.
Vietnamese developers with experience in Python, C++, and TensorFlows tend to earn higher salaries, while those with 1-4 years of experience tend to earn lower salaries on average. Singaporean developers with experience in Java, .NET, and JavaScript tend to earn higher salaries, while those with experience in PHP and Ruby earn lower salaries on average. Singaporean developers also tend to earn higher salaries across all levels of experience, reflecting the country's reputation as a tech hub and higher cost of living.
