Vietnam is in my heart

My ticket has been purchased and my last day in Vietnam is set for August 11 (assuming the country does not go into lockdown).

As my departure date approaches and I set off on a new journey, I keep thinking back to what attracted me to this wonderful country. I still remember so clearly my first night in Hanoi, in September 2003. The bustling traffic, the plastic stools on the sidewalk, the street merchants hustling their goods; the sensory overload…all this charmed and captivated me.

But most importantly, the smiling, friendly and welcoming people of Vietnam were all reasons I decided to stay. The exciting projects, the dynamic and creative economy and the work experiences were what kept me here.

It has been such an amazing 16 years! I will always cherish the time I’ve spent in Vietnam and the people I have met throughout the years. As I reflect on my life in Vietnam, I’m so truly grateful for the lifelong friends, the incredible adventures, the amazing colleagues, the career experiences, and of course, for having found the love of my life and for our incredible daughter.

Vietnam is in my heart and I will deeply miss all the wonderful people who have been part of my adventure.

I may be leaving Vietnam, but I will remain close to this country that has been so good to me and where I have developed solid roots.

In fact, my intention as I move forward professionally is to build business bridges between Canada and Vietnam, identify and nurture trading opportunities and develop partnerships and alliances between Canadian and Vietnamese corporations. I have personally built wide networks of business relations on both sides and I will devote my energies to translate these into mutually profitable projects.

Of course, I will remain on the lookout for such opportunities and open to discuss these with interested parties.

The invitation to come to visit us in Canada is open and please do not be shy to get in touch with me anytime.
