Vietnam International Travel Mart 2023 to Revive Cultural Tourism

Vietnam is all set to welcome various countries across the continents to its 10th annual trade show - Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM). This year, it will be organized from 13th April to 16th April at the Cultural Friendship Palace in Hanoi.?

Almost 15 countries and territories around the world have registered to participate in VITM in 2023. It will feature 450 pavilions from more than 50 Vietnamese localities. The four-day expo is themed Cultural Tourism and aims at contributing to preserving? the cultural heritages as well as introducing Vietnamese culture to various nations.?

Vu The Binh, chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association stated at a press briefing in Hanoi on March 28 that the travel expo will encourage businesses to design new tourism products through tapping into the unique values of the nation’s modern and traditional culture, including its cultural heritages.

He added that it will also contribute to elevating the position of the Vietnamese tourism industry which has gradually developed into a spearhead economic sector of the country.

The Highlights?

  • More than 60,000 visitors, and representatives from 2,500 businesses are anticipated to join the event. The business representatives are looking forward to finding cooperation and partnerships.?
  • Domestic and international art troupes from Indonesia and Malaysia will present exclusive art performances.?
  • Several activities to promote tourism promotion will be held throughout the event. These activities will include -
  • Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) conferences
  • A seminar to reduce plastic waste in tourist destinations
  • A forum on Vietnamese cultural tourism development?
  • There will be tourism promotion programmes that will -
  • Introduce cultural tourism tours to Nepal, Indonesia, and Taiwan (China)
  • Have? cultural tourism delights in Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An (Vietnam)

Furthermore, Vu The Binh emphasized that the lifestyle of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam has attracted tourists from far and wide. Since the ethnic groups have different customs, culture, and production activities, people are drawn to look into these. He is hopeful that VITM 2023 will help boost tourism and make it a significant part of the cultural industry, thus contributing to preserving the value of Vietnamese cultural heritage.?
