After the success of the Gaumont version, directed by Alice Guy in 1906, Pathé released in 1907 a new version of the Life and Passion of Christ (after the ones it had released in 1898 and 1903). Interesting to compare the two. I find that the Gaumont version has aged better, but this version is also impressive, notably due to the use of the Pathécolor stencil-coloring process.
