Vidyut, a Bengaluru-based full-stack EV ecosystem startup, has partnered with JSW MG Motor India to introduce an innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing model for passenger electric vehicles. The initiative, launched for models including the MG Comet EV, MG Windsor EV, and MG ZS EV, aims to reduce the overall cost of EV ownership.

The S1 Lite offers an impressive 180 km range on a single charge, making it India’s most economical high-speed electric scooter with such a range, priced at just ?84,999.

In a significant move to boost indigenous manufacturing, Tata Motors Group, India’s leading producer of commercial and passenger vehicles, has laid the foundation for a world-class production facility in Panapakkam, Ranipet district, Tamil Nadu. Kia Corporation has officially inaugurated its Gwangmyeong EVO Plant, marking Hyundai Motor Group’s first dedicated electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility. Located at Kia Autoland Gwangmyeong, this new South Korean plant boasts an annual production capacity of 150,000 units and commenced production of the Kia EV3 in the first half of this year, with plans to introduce the EV4 in early 2025.
