Video Storytelling
As fundraisers, we are all storytellers. It's perhaps the single most important part of our jobs; connecting organizations with donors through creative and meaningful stories. I think we should ask ourselves often, if not daily, what is my ___________ story? (insert the name of your organization into the blank).
Every donor will have his or her own story for why they provide financial support, and it's crucial as fundraisers that we know those stories because as we all know, people give from their hearts through emotional connections.
I have found that the most powerful tool for a fundraiser is the use of video... and it doesn't have to be a Hollywood production. In fact, your smartphone can produce wonderful videos that you can share often across many different platforms.
