Trauma-informed practice isn't new, and it certainly isn't new to me. In 2008, my doctorate dissertation focused on whether emotional intelligence predicted court-ordered batterers' intervention program completion. In 2016, I inserted trauma-informed principles into two major organizational restructuring efforts. Then 2020 changed everything--for me and for all of us.
When I stood on that infamous TEDx red dot last October and challenged all of you to come with me and the thousands of Michelle's as we work to train 1 million trauma-informed leaders by 2031, I never imagined we would have engaged over 20,000 people in such a short period of time. I am proud to be one of the first trailblazers in this movement, I am proud of my own healing, and I am honored you trust me with this role.
Over the last 24-months, I have dedicated hundreds of hours and my own money testing my Power of 3 framework , developing national standards , conducting pre / post test evaluations, listening to your feedback, ensuring safety and accuracy, and validating my Employee Experiences Questionnaire . You told me that you wanted to hear from others doing the work . You told me you wanted a peer-to-peer Community of Practice . You told me you were ready for less talk and more tools to help you put concepts into practice.
I heard you. Now, it's time to get to work. This line-up of workshops in addition to new resources and support services provide you with the necessary "how to" tools so you can feel confident in your application. All of these services also align with national standards so you can be assured this content is evidence-based and accurate. Finally, and as always, these new action-oriented workshops and all of the other new trauma-informed workplace resources come from a place of real life experiences as a hurt leader.
