[Video] Open Data & Data Sharing Platforms

Ensuring proper dissemination of your research data is a great responsibility of any scientist. It is becoming more and more difficult to publish a scientific article without providing a data?availability?statement. Sharing of datasets, metadata, models, software, and other sources – promises to speed up discoveries, improve reproducibility and expand economic development. This structural change requires paying attention to reproducibility, integrity, data cleaning, and data fusion. When making a data set public we must be sure that we provide as much as possible the complete metadata and respect the codes of ethics on the disclosure of data (anonymity etc.).
In this video, I explain how a scientist can share their datasets in Open Data and the most famous data repositories. Open Data is about making your data available online in depositories and registering the data under an open-access license which allows other researchers to use it. Open Data includes raw data, clean data, code of analysis, or pre-registration protocol on how data was collected.

2 年Totally agree with you on these subjects . I too am ahead and prototyping in an open format a smart data acquisition hardware electronics able to provide increased trustworthiness and validation of experimental data origins. Here's the link to my github repository to anyone who finds interesting this open way of delivering science https://github.com/aeonSolutions/openScience-Smart-DAQ-to-Upload-Live-Experimental-Data-to-a-Data-Repository
