Will video help you sell?

I just got off a call with a prospect and they brought up a familiar concern when evaluating what we could do with video in a marketing plan to help it be more successful.
They confessed that they didn't believe video would help them sell their solution.
I pointed out that it would indeed be a big jump to watch a You Tube Short form video to making a large, complicated purchase, but that shouldn't be the expectation.
What video can do is boost your visibility.
Being seen is an important step.
By being seen, you are top of mind.
People are busy. Distracted.
When you put video content in the channels where your audience spends time, you have a chance to be seen.
The more frequently you release video content in those channels, them more chances you have.
If your video content answers the questions your target audience has, they will tend toward seeing you as an expert.
If they see you frequently, they may tend to trust you more, maybe even like you.
The search algorithms reward frequency of released content.
The expertise you have in your field contains the very key words your audience is using when searching for answers to their problems and evaluating solutions.
If you are what they find, the more likely it is that you will be on their short list of solutions to their problems.

If you are not visible there, trust me, someone else will be.
Will video sell for you? Maybe not.
Can it be part of the solution? It sure can be...
if you take the time to strategically plan, test and optimize getting the right message to the right audience at the right time.
