Video consultation is not the solution

Hello Mathew
I was reading your article with great interest and although I agree that video consultation is convenient, but it certainly is not what is required to resolve the critical issues facing many governments around the world in addressing this rapidly escalating problem.
Although there is a lot of talk and many studies indicate that the answer to this is preventive care there is very little interest from many in the industry to implement viable solutions as it will destroy their lucrative bottom lines that they got accustomed to over the centuries. Unfortunately, healthcare to this point has been sheltered unlike many other businesses from the competitive forces of free market. But with the advance of technology they are being forced to address it reluctantly. As such is that many of the solutions that they are coming up are cumbersome and expensive. This reluctance opens the door for many newcomers to enter the market, but the reality is that to this point most of them are missing the significant issues that must be addressed. As such the service what you used is nothing more than an expensive Skype visit with a doctor that has no medical history on you and as such can address only minor irrelevant conditions. The version of this service is the Teladoc’s in the US that are nothing more than market hypes and if you look at their financials most of their earnings are generated by corporate subscriptions with very little revenue from doctor patient interaction.
An interactive preventive system between a doctor and his patient is the solution. A system where the doctor can monitor his patients and interact with them prior becoming a critical condition. A system that is simple for the patient to use. But more importantly a system that can provide services in some of the most remote areas where the needs are even more critical than ever.
