Victory Through Humility and Dependence on God

Victory Through Humility and Dependence on God

Bible Verse of the Day:

“The Lord turned to him and said, ‘Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?’” – Judges 6:14

Today's Word:

God often calls us when we feel the least prepared, the least qualified, or the weakest. This pattern is not accidental; it reveals His power in our weakness. Like Gideon, we may question God’s choice, saying, “Why me? I’m not strong enough.” But God sees beyond our doubts. He equips those He calls, not because of their strength, but because of His. When we depend on Him, we are victorious.

I remember a friend, who was asked to lead a church youth group. She felt unworthy because she wasn’t outgoing or confident like others. She prayed and told God, “I’m not the right person for this.” But the more she resisted, the more doors opened for her to lead. She eventually said yes, relying on God for strength. Over time, saw God working through her insecurities, transforming not only her life but also the lives of the young people she served. Just like Gideon, she found that God’s power shines brightest in our weakest moments.

In the story of Deborah, we see another example of God using someone unexpected to lead. Deborah, a prophetess and judge, was called to guide Israel in a time of chaos. When Barak, the commander of Israel's army, doubted his ability to face the enemy, Deborah boldly reminded him of God’s promise to deliver victory. The battle against Sisera was won not by military might, but by obedience to God’s plan. Just as in Gideon’s story, the glory belonged to God, not man.

Golden Nugget:

God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called. He works through our weaknesses, not despite them, to show His glory and power. Victory is not about our abilities but about our willingness to obey and trust Him.

Today's Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing us, even when we feel unworthy. Help us to trust in Your strength and rely on Your Spirit, knowing that You will equip us for every task You have called us to do. Teach us to surrender our fears, doubts, and self-reliance, and to lean completely on You. May we hear Your voice clearly, follow Your leading faithfully, and experience victory in every battle through Your power. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Today's Blessings:

? May the Lord fill you with confidence in His calling on your life.

? May you find strength in His promises, knowing that He is with you always.

? May His Spirit guide you to victory, giving you peace and joy in every step of your journey.

? May you experience His power working in and through your life today and always.

Conclusion:

Gideon’s story reminds us that it’s not our strength but God’s presence that leads to victory. Like Gideon, and Deborah, we must trust God’s call and obey, even when we feel inadequate. He doesn’t need numbers, strength, or perfection—He simply needs hearts willing to trust Him. Whatever challenge you face today, remember that God is fighting for you. Surrender to Him, rely on His Spirit, and watch Him bring victory.

Have a victorious day, and may the Lord’s power guide you through every challenge. Share this devotion with someone who needs encouragement, and let’s keep trusting in the God who always equips the unqualified.

My husband really needs to hear this devotion. Please pray for us. He has been missing since Tuesday. I don't know where he is or why he never came home. I know God is protecting him wherever he is. I know he fighting battles & will not let God control it all. He needs to surrender to God, again.
