In a historic moment for LGBTQ rights in the Caribbean, Dominica's High Court has overturned a ban on consensual same-sex relations, marking a significant victory for equality and justice. This groundbreaking decision reaffirms the fundamental rights and dignity of LGBTQ individuals in Dominica and beyond.

The court's ruling comes in response to a case brought forth by a courageous gay man living in Dominica, who challenged the constitutionality of laws criminalizing same-sex activity. The court found that sections 14 and 16 of the Sexual Offences Act, which prohibited consensual same-sex activity between adults, violated fundamental rights enshrined in the country's constitution.
