“A Victorious Veteran's Day Salute My Military Comrades in Arms!”

The United States Marine Corps is celebrating its 245th year of victorious campaigns. I can attest to their heroic fortitude. I completed their Command and Staff Course for combined operations. Six of them planted the “American Flag” on February 23, 1945, on Mount Suribachi, by carrying out the request of their battalion adjutant, “Put it at the Top,” after defeating tyranny at Guadalcanal in World War II. “Semper Fi!”

During June 5 – 6, 1944, during “Operation Neptune Combat Night Parachute Assault,” in the Anzio Operation, a German officer who faced the fierce fighting men of the 82nd Airborne Division, wrote in his diary, “American Paratroopers—Devils in Baggy Pants, are less than 100 meters from my outpost line. I can’t sleep at night. They pop up from nowhere, and we never know when or how they will strike next. It seems like the black-hearted devils are everywhere!”?Tyranny learned not to tangle against the liberty fighting forces of the 82nd Airborne Division, “Devils in Baggy Pants!” I later served as a rifle platoon leader and executive officer with the 1/505th Infantry, H-Minus, Panther Battalion, Cold Steel Bayonet Alpha Company, 82nd Airborne Division, with distinction (Attached).

On August 6, 1944, during the Omaha Beach Normandy Invasion, Major Max Schneider leading his warfighting Rangers, was approached by General Norman Cota, who asked for their identity. After getting an answer, the general pronounced, “If You’re Rangers, Lead the Way!” Such incredible words became the motto of the elite 75th Airborne Ranger Infantry, “Lead the Way!” They are still leading the way. My dream came through to be a special operations soldier in the United States Army within six months of joining. My first assignment was the elite 75th Airborne Rangers Infantry, “Leading the Way, Night and Day!” I have my ranger tab in my wallet, which inspires others when shown to them.

During May 1944, the invincible Devil’s Brigade, 1st Special Service Forces, nicked names “The Thugs,” an aggressive, fearless, and well-trained warfighting unit spearheaded the entry into Rome. In 1954, they became the distinguished and famed Special Operation Force, “Green Berets.” This is second unit I later served with as a select special operator after joining the United States Army. “De Oppresso Liber!”

When told to surrender after being encircled by Hitler’s panzer tanks on December 22, 1944, General Anthony McAuliffe Jr. responded, “NUTS!” After the Nazis picked on the 101st Airborne Division, World War II ended several months later, from the actions of the “Band of Brother Rendezvous with Destiny.”?General George Patton joined the fight, and with a lightning strike of armor warfare from the right arm of Zeus, defeated Nazi Tyrannical Fascisms at the Battle of Bastogne, Belgium. December is the month of my birth, Sagittarius! The 101st Airborne Division is the 3rd unit I later served with as a long-range reconnaissance scout team leader, penetrating the enemy’s lines to collect essential elements of information for victorious combat operations.

My comrades in arms, may God continue to bless and uplift each of you as freedom liberators against tyranny. May God continue to bless the United States of America as “The Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!” I victoriously say to each of you, “Thank you for your service and welcome home. Happy Veteran’s Day!”

I kept the 27th Psalm on my tongue all the way, “Whom shall I fear?” His rod and staff in the 23rd Psalm always flushed the enemy out from dark places.
