The Victorian Election

The Victorian Election

It is easy to target Dan Andrews and/or Matthew Guy. It is easy to say neither deserve a vote and arguably both need to face many levels of scrutiny, and accountability!?

It is easy to say we have the worst opposition and the worst state government, ever! Voting for someone this election is hard when we just consider the facts:

  • Victoria has the biggest state debt;
  • Victoria endured world record lockdowns but the State has the highest Covid death rate;
  • Regional and metro road conditions have worsened, there is no end in site, the drive from Woodend to Daylesford has many kms of 40 km/hour speed limits due road condition (well before the recent rains and floods);
  • The biggest project, a rail loop linking outer suburbs, will cost at least $75 billion more than promised; and
  • The health system is poor, when we dial 000, we hope something happens.

We could go on but we can’t ignore the opposition that still cannot present as a viable alternate government. Six weeks out from the election the biggest news on the opposite featured two disgraced MPs, one with a blog and one still claiming a car allowance after being banned from driving after a drunken incident. A shambles, truly!
