Victoria Wood - Bury's Famous Daughter

Talking of which, tomorrow would have seen the legendary late Victoria Wood celebrate her 70th Birthday. Her wit and humour made her a favourite of millions of T.V. viewers and her talents as a playwright, stand-up comedian, actress, writer and singer-songwriter earned her many awards and accolades throughout her life.

Should you go into Bury, be sure to visit the bronze life size statue which was unveiled on the 17th May 2019. Created by Sculptor Graham Ibbeson is situated next to Bury Art Museum, just off Silver Street in Library Gardens.
