Who would win in a fight between Doom and Sauron?

Fighters Take the Stage

In one corner you have Victor von Doom. Dr. Victor von Doom, Ph.D aka Doctor Doom is a Latverian politician who serves as the Monarch and Supreme Leader for the Kingdom of Latveria. Doom is considered one of the most brilliant minds and scientists on the planet Earth, and is also a sorcerer with skills in magic matching the most powerful beings in the Universe. Unequalled in ability, ego, and will power, he has come into conflict with both superhumans and cosmic beings. Respect.

In the other, the dark lord Sauron. Sauron, known as the The Abhorred, or the eponymous Lord of the Rings, was a fallen Maia, creator of the One Ring, a gifted student of Vala Aul? the Smith and lieutenant of Melkor (Morgoth). After his master's defeat by the Valar, Sauron became the second Dark Lord and sought to conquer Arda by creating the Rings of Power. Respect.

How I See It

The one ring has surfaced in the Earth-616 marvel universe. The Illuminati take custody of this strange artifact. Despite warnings of mental manipulations from Prof X, Reed Richards hears the call of the One Ring. The temptation too strong, Richards slips the ring on, and Sauron’s forces answer the call across the multiverse. Still appearing as a hero, Richards builds similar rings for the remaining Illuminati. Amplified by Sauron, Richards is the new Dark Lord.

As the forces of evil descend, they conquer much of the planet. Despite their best efforts, the heroes gradually fall: Stark, Xavier, Thing, Human Torch, and Namor become ring wraiths. But one nation does not fall. That holding out is Latveria. The final conflict between Sauron and Doom. Armies of orcs, trolls, and enthralled shield, golden hand, and mutants collide with Doom’s army of bots. A stalemate until Richards/Sauron enter the fray.

Finally, Doom appears and shatters Sauron’s ground forces. After a brief physical battle, Doom collides with Richards and destroys the form corporeal form of Sauron. Sauron retreats the the ethereal plane, a trap meant to pull Doom into Sauron's turf. Doom is there to meet him, and a cosmic battle of magic ensues.

My Conclusion

After a tremendous battle, the forces of Sauron are defeated. Back in Latveria, Doom finds the One Ring. Meant for him all along, Doom hears the call of Sauron. After experimentation, Doom fastens the On Ring to a new Gauntlet as Sauron's shadow is seen in the corners. Once the Gauntlet is one his hand, Sauron’s mind collides with Doom.

"I see you," explains Sauron. "I shall give you eternal life and power beyond comprehension. Sauron and Doom shall be the greatest power of the multiverse."

“You are only half correct, Necromancer of Dol Guldur. For Doom's will is the most powerful being of all times." declares Doom.

And with that Doom’s will consumes Sauron.
