Avoid the risk of being taken for GRANTED or break free.

Survival requires adaptation which can take any form. Most needy persons get by eventually without the help they seek. Your money is probably better off in your possession, so don’t be a simp.

I once found myself entangled in a consistent monthly lending cycle. “Can you please help me with an urgent loan of ?2k until salary is paid, I’m so broke I have no money for transport or food” says the company driver. As a potential fool and a simultaneously sharp accountant that I was, I usually obliged. I deducted the loan when processing salaries and I let go a few times.

Fast forward, I had left the company, but the requests did not stop. So now, I must wait until my guy pays me back. Suddenly, he thinks I would forfeit some as usual and he tests me with another request despite an outstanding… What did I do?
