Vice President of Exploration

Company Overview:

Our client, a TSX-listed gold producer operating in Africa, is currently seeking a Vice President of Exploration to join its leadership team.??

Position Summary:

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Exploration will lead and supervise all exploration-related activities, ranging from generative greenfield to advanced-stage exploration, and near-mine resource expansion. The role is crucial in guiding and executing a multi-year exploration campaign for the company’s flagship gold mine and supporting ongoing corporate development initiatives.??

Responsibilities:

• Guide and execute a multi-year exploration campaign for a flourishing gold district.
• Support ongoing corporate development initiatives to grow the business into a mid-tier producer.
• Provide technical leadership for the exploration team, including reviewing, developing, and maintaining best-practice technical exploration systems and protocols.
• Oversee all exploration-related activities, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and within budget.
• Coordinate with the corporate development team to align exploration activities with the company's strategic goals.
• Develop and implement exploration strategies and plans that drive resource discovery and expansion.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

Requirements:

• University Degree in Geoscience Discipline.
• Professional Geologist/Geoscientist (P. Geo.) designation.
• 15+ years of mineral exploration experience.
• African gold mineral exploration experience (advantageous)
• Prior expatriate experience driving mineral exploration outside of home country origin.
• Extensive experience designing, supervising, and executing international exploration programs is required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
• Willingness to travel as required by the role.

As the company is headquartered in Vancouver, candidates residing in Vancouver or willing to relocate will be considered favourably. However, candidates will be considered in other localities depending on experience and relevance to the position.??
