Expected pay for this position is $87.41 - $115.81/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President of Ethics is accountable for planning, guiding and evaluating the strategic direction and performance of the company-wide Ethics services department. Responsible for rendering consultative and advisory recommendations to the organization at the service of clinical as well as organizational ethics questions, inquires and demands. Accountable for overall planning, operations and evaluation of Ethics Services, serving in close partnership and collaboration with the Sisters of the Third Order of Saint Francis, Mission Services Leadership and other key stakeholders of the OSF ministry. Develops and supports the annual strategy and agenda which focuses upon Ethics Consultation services, Ethics Education/ Formation, Ethics Policy and Practice as well as other key professional domains of the Ethics profession in a way that promotes the Mission, Vision and Values of OSF HealthCare. Empowers leaders and all Mission Partners to integrate the ethos of the Catholic Moral and Ethical tradition within decisions and practices. Focuses particular attentiveness to patient care ethics, organizational ethics, and intersections with pastoral and spiritual care, organizational development and community health, as pertains to the most vulnerable. Actively supports OSF formation and Catholic fidelity work and establishes clear linkages to the wider OSF Strategy.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s Graduate degree in Theology or Ethics or Philosophy with focus on ethics
Experience: 3 years of Ethics experience with progressively increased responsibility in managing a healthcare or related department and its staff, including planning, budget, performance management and staff reviews. Project management experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Doctorate Degree in Ethics.??
Experience: 1 year of experience in a team lead, performance improvement, or leadership position.
Licensure/ Certification: HEC-C (Healthcare Ethics Consultant Certification from American Society for Bioethics and Humanities)
