Vibrazione del Colore | Heinz Mack
I'm pleased to present the second post-war artist on the show:?Heinz Mack?(1931 Lollar, Germany).
Cortesi Gallery?has a strong and long-lasting collaboration with this great master of the?Zero?movement, tracing his artistic career and presenting works from the late 1950s to the present.
On the occasion of this new exhibition dedicated to?colour, it would have been difficult not to include his new production of large canvases.
Mack's artistic research has always been based on the investigation of light through black and white canvases and the use of innovative materials such as aluminium and plexiglass, then through his contemporary production in studying the light spectrum. It is from the liminal area of the colour, between light and dark, considered by Mack the germinal place of the vision, that started his great transition of 1991, when the artist started focusing on a new pictorial work that translates his intuitions of redefinition of the surface and the space into a new and surprising chromatic key.
This is how the monumental Chromatische Konstellation (Chromatic Constellations) were made: an impetuous painting made of pure colours, free from any naturalistic or descriptive element, the unfolding of the luminous spectrum as a distillate of thought and energy.
