VHT expo in Germany

Interlift 2022 was recently held between 26-29 April in Augsburg, Germany and the team of Elevator World India (EWI) had an opportunity to be a part of it. Our team comprising of Ms. Anitha Raghunath and Mr. Raghu G were in attendance, along with Mr. Krishna Kumar (KK), CEO of PAPL Corp, India’s leading VT planning, engineering and independent inspection company and a senior member of the EWI editorial team. KK also made a presentation to the attendees of the event on VHT industry in India especially in public buildings.

With India's changing skyline and the increase in the number of high rises, vertical transportation is extremely important. The population of the country, the footfall a public building expects and the fact that the system has to be disabled friendly was the highlights of the presentation.?

KK also spoke about the design context and approach taken for the architectural design of public buildings and the role vertical transport plays in it. While India is very unique with respect to its diverse cultures, the technology required and the need to stick to global standards remains, thus making it a great market for manufacturers of VHT systems from across the globe. In order give a deeper understanding, he also spoke about the rights of the disabled individuals, guidelines and standards that are applicable in India and the varied VHT systems currently used in the country. In order to bring global leaders to the Indian subcontinent and to also ensure that we are on par with the global standards when it comes to safety guidelines, hygiene and the use of the latest technology, he also outlined standard design practices and guidelines that are widely followed in the country.
