However, in China, the world's largest variable frequency drive market with the highest brand concentration, sew's approach to VFD (Variable-frequency Drive) is unique.

In order to gain an in-depth understanding of sew's unique development model and future strategy in the Chinese market, our reporter interviewed Mr. Ren Weihua, Senior Manager of Electronic Products and Technology Center of sew-Transmission Equipment (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Reporter: Different from many international frequency conversion drive manufacturers, sew does not have a lot of "renovation", and it seems that it can always "respond to all changes with the same change". Which characteristics of sew determine this mode of operation in your opinion?


Manager Ren: In fact, sew has launched many drive control products in recent years. However, due to the different development ideas from the traditional VFD (Variable-frequency Drive) manufacturers, people in the industry exclaimed: "VFD (Variable-frequency Drive) can also do the same."

As the world's largest reducer manufacturer, Sew has a history of 76 years in the field of power transmission. From DC speed regulation to AC frequency conversion speed regulation and servo drive, Sew has accumulated rich experience in the manufacture and application of drive control components. Our advantage is: all transmissions are finally realized through geared motors, so we know what kind of transmission customers need.

"Making mechatronic products, making precision transmission; following the trend, wanting to be ahead of customers" is our guiding ideology of drive and control product development. For example, in the field of on-site distributed drive control, sew company has continuously launched a new generation of products, not just a product, but a complete series, from contactless power supply to current inverter, industrial Ethernet gateway, from distribution Type intelligent drive controller, integrated frequency conversion motor, synchronous servo drive system, combined with the world-renowned precision mechanical transmission components of sew company, adopts the "module combination" method to provide customers with a complete set of drive control system. In addition, pay attention to the total use cost of the product's entire life cycle. According to our calculations, for transmission products, the customer's initial purchase cost only accounts for 20% of the total cost of the product life cycle. Therefore, our product design fully considers the customer's initial purchase cost In addition to other use costs, such as design, commissioning, supporting components, use and maintenance, spare parts, updates and upgrades, and even efficiency, electromagnetic interference, and final waste disposal. Everything starts from the customer, and the customer will give you a satisfactory return.


Reporter: Due to relatively little external publicity and promotion, we don't know much about the performance development of Sew's variable frequency drive products in 2006. Can you make a brief summary here? What do you think is the most important achievement of sew in the past year? Why?


Manager Ren: We are positioned as a complete set of professional transmission components suppliers, so we used to promote in some industry media exhibitions, in some industries, we are very well-known, such as automobile manufacturing, beer and beverage, professional automation machinery , Many well-known domestic projects, such as Shenzhou series satellite launchers, Shanghai Maglev trains, and auditoriums of the Great Hall of the People all use our drive control components. Since 2006, we have strengthened the promotion in the general VFD (Variable-frequency Drive) field, strengthened the technical support and sales network, and established regional technical sales and service centers for drive control products in Shenyang, Suzhou and Guangzhou. Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone has established an electronic product and technology center, which is responsible for the marketing and technical services of electronic products across the country. In 2006, our sales of drive control products in China increased by 60% compared with 2005.

In 2006, our most important achievement was the establishment and strengthening of the electronic product sales and support network, which laid a good foundation for future development. As a professional supplier of drive control components, a strong pre-sales and after-sales technical support team often plays a key role in the success or failure of a product. With such a network, in conjunction with sew's 36 sales offices and branches all over the country, we can introduce the latest drive components to customers in the shortest possible time.


Reporter: What frequency conversion drive products has sew launched recently? What kind of competitive advantage do you have? What kind of strategy will the new product development plan follow in the next step?


Manager Ren: This year, we plan to launch a new generation of general-purpose VFD (Variable-frequency Drive) movitrac 07b products and motion controllers moviplc based and moviplc advanced for machine module design concepts in China. The former is a general-purpose vector VFD (Variable-frequency Drive) for general applications. It can output rated torque at 0.5hz. It can be used in high-performance applications such as lifting drives and has high cost performance. Due to the modular design, the product price is greatly reduced. moviplc based and moviplc advanced are a new generation of drive-based motion controllers, which can be installed independently or inserted into the option slot of the drive controller. They adopt five programming languages of the international standard IEC61131. Sew provides standard software libraries, which can be intuitively It is convenient to complete complex motion control, from electronic gears, electronic cams, to motion track interpolation control.

In the next step, we will launch a new generation of on-site distributed drive control products, especially for the popularization of industrial Ethernet in the field of industrial control. This generation of products will be designed according to the characteristics of industrial Ethernet communication. Single-line installation and non-contact energy transmission will It is the highlight of this generation of products. More complete and more humanized control functions, focusing on reducing the overall operating costs of users, will be the cornerstone of the success of our new generation of products.
