Now that we are well into 2022, I thought that I would share some news on the Veterans' Foundation.
In our current year to 30 June 2022, we expect to award grants of ￡4.5 million bringing the total amount that we will have given since we started to ￡11 million. Our total income this year, mainly from the Veterans Lottery, should be ￡9 million so we are donating about 50% to the causes that we support - higher than most lotteries.
We set up the Veterans' Foundation to help veterans in need through mainly smaller military charities and similar organisations, and I'm delighted to say that so far we've helped 293.
We've created some great new initiatives in the last year, including the Veterans' Foundation Memorial Wall, a permanent online tribute honouring the lives of loved ones that have served. Please take a look at it.
Also, we are being supported by Jen Price who is on a mission to support veterans by taking on 12 hard challenges in the next 12 months. Please support Jen if you are able.
As we have grown so much, I'm delighted to announce that we've recently appointed 2 new Trustees - Gillian Brewer and Simon Banks-Cooper. Fantastic to have them both on board.
From my personal perspective, it's great to be part of a team that are making such an impact.

2 年I have been in awe at the impact that the Veterans Foundation has, and continues to have, on the veteran’s community for some time. The number of charities and other organisations it supports is phenomenal, and the scope of the activities which that support facilitates, and sheer number of individuals that ultimately benefit is a truly inspiring achievement. I am humbled at being given the opportunity to help in some small way.
