Veterans Day

As Veterans Day approaches and we remember and honor the brave men and women who have served our country, I want to pause and pay a heartfelt tribute to my grandfather, a Korean War and Vietnam war Veteran, whose selflessness and dedication have had a profound impact on me.? I was raised by my grandfather.

A true hero in my eyes, not only exemplifies the sacrifices made by those who have served but has also imparted invaluable leadership principles that have shaped the person I am today. His experiences as a soldier taught him the importance of courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment.

My grandfather taught me that leadership is not about asserting authority or seeking personal gain, but rather, it is about nurturing others, inspiring unity, and working towards a common purpose. He instilled in me the belief that a leader is someone who leads with integrity, someone who remains steadfast in the face of adversity, and someone who understands the importance of looking out for the well-being of those under their care.

?The lessons my grandfather taught me have transcended beyond the battlefield; they have become guiding principles in every aspect of my life. I carry his wisdom with me in my career, and my relationships. His influence reminds me to strive for excellence, to never shy away from embracing challenges, and to always stand up for what is right.

To my grandfather, I am forever grateful for the legacy you have built. My brother is still serving, my son is deployed overseas. Your selflessness and leadership continue to guide me, reminding me of the impact one individual can have in shaping the world for the better.
