I was recently reminded of the unique importance of Veterans Day (Nov. 11th, 2017) in addition to the importance of Memorial Day. Veterans Day is a special day set aside for each of us to thank those who are serving or have served and are still with us.
Memorial Day is our time to reflect and remember those who lost their lives in service to our country.
If you visit us, you'll note a U.S. Flag proudly flying outside our home and one on display in a case presented to our Family on behalf of the U.S. Air Force. We live six houses away from our local Fire-station, which proudly & prominently fly's and illuminates our countries flag.
Each May, I get to honor my Grandfather, Father, Uncle, Cousins, Neighbors and Friends who've departed us in service. Each November, I get to honor, my immediate next door neighbor, my best friend and his wife, family friends and my children's best friends some whom went to serve us and our Country immediately after their high school graduations and many friends still actively serving in the National Guard. I'm simply reflecting upon, we likely ALL, know a Veteran or the family of Veteran, close enough for us to personally (face-to-face) express our thanks to.

The projected active duty, end strength in the armed forces for FY 2017 is 1,281,900 people, with an additional 801,200 people in the seven reserve components.
By definition Veterans of our military are actively deployed in more than 138 countries around the world, with hundreds of thousands of our active-duty personnel serving outside the United States and its territories.
Perhaps you'll agree, our precious Veterans are way too busy this year... As our veterans rise each day and serve us whether it be: disaster relief efforts in Texas, Florida & Puerto Rico, amplified tensions in the Pacific and in the Middle East. Working as guards at one of our many remote embassy's. Yes, we've got Veteran's protecting our interests and citizens whether in the Air, on Seas and Oceans, or lands near and far, with or without comfort... and once again most worthy of our Gratitude, Thanks and Prayers.
Veteran's... you have my deepest and sincere thanks and appreciation for your courage and sacrifices.
