Veterans Day: From Service to Citizenship
To all Veterans: THANK YOU for YOUR SERVICE to AMERICA!
For a little inspiration to your day, here's a video featuring Aaron Fox who takes the stage 2:35 minutes into this recording:
Aaron Fox, a Marine Corps veteran, served on Iwo Jima and is one of the very few people left who witnessed the Flag being raised on Mt. Suribachi. He is speaking at a Veteran's Day Ceremony in Chagrin Falls, Ohio in this video.
Mr. Fox offers a poignant reminder of the fact that veterans are all around us in the communities where we live. Ordinary people who did extraordinary things as they answered the call when our country needed them. They turned their lives inside out to serve our country in an effort to make our world a better place.
Our nation is blessed that so many have served.
To those who have not worn a military uniform: The veteran who introduces Mr. Fox advocates that:
- Communities are the bedrock of any nation.
- Civilians have the responsibility of citizenship.
- Regardless of your background or current situation, you can serve this country by serving those around you.
How are you serving your community?

8 年Remember Veteran's Day is a celebration. Never forget and always remember the sacrifice of these men and women but do not be sad. Rejoice that they were willing to serve for all of us.
