St. Joe Graduates Served, Then Created a Startup

Washington, DC:? Geoff Weber experienced big change since he graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1985.? He moved his family around the world, served a full US Navy career, and founded a technology startup with his friend, John Rahaghi, also a St. Joe grad.? However, Rahaghi graduated from St. Joe in 1993 and never knew Weber during high school.? Eight years apart, they didn’t first meet until going through training to become intelligence officers shortly after September 11th, 2001.

“You’re from Pittsfield?” inquired Weber, as he and Rahaghi gasped for air from the arduous training in Pensacola, Florida.? They made fast friends upon first meeting in 2002.? Weber and Rahaghi share a passion for solving big problems and have developed expertise in managing the ever-increasing volume, variety, and velocity of data.? Since departing the Navy, Rahaghi worked for the State Department, Facebook, and other technology startups before deciding to join forces with Weber at Heirloom Cloud Corporation.

Heirloom (heirloom.cloud ) makes it easy to enjoy all photos, videos, and other cherished media from any device, for life.? The company digitizes old memories into a private network where they can be shared just like new memories.? Headquartered in the Washington DC area, Heirloom plans to expand operations to a new fulfillment center where hundreds of digitizing specialists will convert nearly one billion VHS cassettes and other media items still requiring preservation.? Weber and Rahaghi would like to bring that home to Pittsfield.? Until then, they remain focused on a new mission:? No memory left behind.
