VETERAN EQUINE-ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY (EAP)

Equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) has emerged as a promising, evidence-based intervention?for the treatment of trauma and stressor-related disorders. This therapy offers an option for Veterans whose traumatic experiences render traditional talk therapies more difficult. New research supports equine therapy a treatment method that uses the connection between people and horses to enhance emotional healing can jump-start the healing process for Veterans who suffer from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Research has also confirmed many equine therapy benefits. It?lowers your blood pressure and heart rate, alleviates stress and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression. Equine therapy also helps people struggling with addictions or mental illness. There are several life skills that horse teaches better than a person.
