A very personal anniversary at Pipedrive

Today is special. For me. Exactly a year ago I've entered the old Pipedrive office at Paldiski Mantee 80 in Tallinn, Estonia, to start a new chapter of my life. I don't want to call today an anniversary of Pipedrive Prague, since that properly started only when I was more than a team of one. It's a meaningful day for me nevertheless.

The beginning of the last year was difficult. After 10+ years in Skype and Microsoft, I found myself in my already second job within one year and not exactly saturated, weighting my future options once again. Clearly Pipedrive is what I was waiting for and what was meant to happen. Here I feel well rooted, ideally utilised and equally challenged. In other words, I'm as happy as I can be.

Pipedrive Prague is 18 people strong now, soon-to-be 19. And strong is the right word to use, since the core team is both well balanced and highly motivated. We have already managed to celebrate our first big success - the release of our very first product - the LeadBooster. It was well received by the Pipedrive user community and as well by the rest of the company. That's exactly what a new team needs as a reward for months of hard and dedicated work. And frankly, it's also what I needed to be able to look back and call it a job well done.

The very first three months were the hardest. I was sitting all alone and setting up all the basics took a lot of bold decisions and investments which started to pay off only much later. I can only thank the rest of the amazing Pipedrive team for all the help and support during the alone-time.

I'm proud to say that we have successfully extended Pipedrive's Engineering Team in the true spirit of our Tribes & Missions framework. The Lead Tribe in Prague is not yet at full capacity, but already autonomous and we have assumed full ownership of the Prospecting business domain at Pipedrive many months ago.

I take it as my and our team's mission for the second year - to share further the secret and success of our method of work and our fairly unique culture - a culture of choice. I believe the future of fast growing Engineering Organisations will look similar to what we're doing at Pipedrive now and it quickly became my favourite topic to talk about.

I'm already scheduled to talk about our Engineering culture from two different angles on WebExpo and on SaaS Movement conferences this year in September and we're planning to do much more of sharing the goodies in the year to come as a team. Follow our Pipedrive Talks Prague community group to be the first to hear about it.

Today feels great and I cannot wait what tomorrow will bring.

Stay tuned for more!
