Vertically Cast Thin Brick Veneer

Vertically Cast Thin Brick Veneer

The Rim Snap is the new and improved version of the Brick Snap. Rim Snaps are ideal for vertical applications and are perfect for accommodating corner brick on returns. The Brick Snap is an individual plastic template/brick holder with interlocking tabs that connect together on the pour surface. The Rim Snap, however, has a rubber-type of gasket rim the holds the brick securely in place. Please watch the video for the installation concept.

Rim Snaps are perfect for small or large-scale barrier walls, bridges, and other commercial construction. Rim Snaps assemble easily and attach to foundation and poured in-place forms to produce a real brick facade integrally cast into concrete.

The thin brick is pressed into the Rim Snaps that have been stapled onto the form. The blue foam “bricks” are used where wall ties are penetrating the snap. After the form is stripped the foam “brick” is removed from the concrete and a thin brick is then set into its place using thin-set mortar. The assembly line process is evident in this photo. From left to right, Rim Snaps are attached to the forms. The thin brick is pressed into the Snaps, and following right along comes the rebar placement crews.

The Rim Snaps are ideal for vertical applications and are perfect for accommodating Climbing forms, columns and residential foundation forms. Rim Snap system attaches to vertical forms to produce a real brick facade integrally-cast into concrete. At this time, the Rim Snap functions with 2×8 standard size thin brick. Advantages: no mason required, flexible gasket rim, attachment to vertical form, accommodate more variety of brick, REUSE of form, and holds tight corners.

Rim Snaps hold the brick in place on the form no matter what the height. The bricks are pressed into the Snap pockets while the form is laying down or vertical. Once the brick is “filled” the form is lifted and put into place or already set in place. After stripping is complete this wall will be washed using 140° hot water and 2500/3000 lbs. pressure to clean any surface leakage away.
