VERTICAL HOT HEADING NEW FLST FRONT LOADING SLIDING TABLE
FLST / Front Loading Sliding Table is a trademark of Sutherland Presses. We have been providing presses to the aircraft fastener industry for over 40 years.
The FLST Series is ideal for long bolt heading. Our unique space saving frame design permits the lower die to slide out to the front for loading and unloading of headed parts. The FLST design provides better ergonomics for the operator and better safety so operators are not leaning into or over the die area.
FLST unit (above) has redundant position sensors for sliding table. This is tied to our I-PRESS control to: only allow slide to stroke when in center heading position & only allow lower KO to lift part when extended to front for part load and unload.
Well thought our features for hot heading include:
1.> Upper slide knock out can be programmed with delay to allow part to cool for better stripping action, 2.> Optional upper hydraulic die clamps for quick die change, 3.> Motorized slide adjustment accurate to .001", 4.> Joy stick control for sliding table in & out movement, 5.> Custom bed and bolster allow sliding table and lower ejector to lift long bolts without interference with upper slide face, 6.> Twin ACB / air counter balance cylinders equalize upper die weight and optimize slide start and stop, 7.> Variable speed drive allows slide speed to be regulated for best material flow depending on material type and heading temperatures, 8.> Press is pre-plumbed for water, air and power for induction heating systems, 9.> Our frame design houses our front to back drive system within the frame and takes up less factory floor space.

The FP-1600 metric ton press (left) was recently installed in Mexico City for high volume automotive forgings.
Small Bed presses for heading and forging are available from 50 ton to 2500 ton.
SP1-660 FLST (above) is heading up to 5" bolts for mining and windmill industries. SP1 Series is available from 220 ton to 1200 ton.
