Verizon Follows T-mobile’s Lead - Offers eSIM-based Service Trial

Verizon has just released a new eSIM Test Drive program that allows customers to experience the Verizon network without having to make a full commitment and give up their existing service. Modeled on a similar program that T-Mobile launched over the summer, Verizon’s test drive customers can add a second phone number to their device and have it active for 30 days.

The program is available to non-Verizon customers and allows them to use an eSIM to add a second phone number to their existing device. The eSIM Test Drive program is a great way for prospective Verizon customers to get a feel for how an eSIM works and whether Verizon’s coverage would benefit them.?

In order to participate in the eSIM Test Drive program, prospective customers must have an unlocked device that supports eSIM technology. This is a great use of eSIM and a way to put your network front and center. The challenge for Verizon will be that many people may not have unlocked phones as AT&T and T-Mobile both lock their phones by default while Verizon’s phones unlock automatically after 60 days of service. But if a prospective customer has a paid-off device and is looking for a new mobile operator, these test drive programs are the way to go.?
