The Technical Preview supports installing Backup Exec on most of the recent versions of Microsoft Windows, including the latest versions of Windows Server i.e. 2022 and 2019. Please note that the Technical Preview is for new Backup Exec 22 installation only and not supported for upgrading from previous versions of Backup Exec.
I also need to emphasise that this is a Technical Preview of Backup Exec 22. As much as the Technical Preview of Backup Exec 22 completely rocks, part of the Technical Preview process is gathering feedback directly on performance, usability and features. Be sure to not to install the Technical Preview on a production system.
The Backup Exec 22 Technical Preview is targeted toward the – IT/system/storage administrators excited and knowledgeable with backup and DR technology. If you don’t quite understand much of what I’ve written above, it is probably best you don’t try to install the Backup Exec 22 Technical Preview.
