Verification and Validation of Data

Verification and Validation of Data

Data is the oil of the 21st century! It needs to flow, more current than ever.

?

Verification (Latin veritas 'truth') checks whether a product during its development corresponds to the specified requirements recorded in a company's specifications, while validation (from Latin validus 'strong') is a kind of field experiment in which it is checked whether defined usage goals are met and thus the suitability of the customer's requirements is checked. ?

For owner/operator, the biggest advantage is to predict whether the defined process can be mapped as theoretically planned. On that basis, he can produce the end product as efficiently as possible and implement the business case in practice. In order to achieve this, different amounts of effort are used to validate the many intermediate results. In order to achieve this, the many intermediate results are validated with varying degrees of effort. In order to get the fastest and most reliable result possible, it is necessary on a common software platform, to verify the engineering plans (ET = Engineering Technology), to operate the data on a database or cloud (IT = Information Technology) and to validate production against specifications (OT = Operation Technology).

To bring these three worlds ET, IT and OT together in a unique way you need a common standard data platform - Engineering Base (EB). This makes it possible to verify and validate without leaving the medium. Even more, EB supports all users with many automatisms and guidelines to achieve your personal goal and the common goal faster and thus to implement the business case faster.

?

In summary, it is a fact that in the long term, costs can be saved by using a common software platform such as EB, since for example, expensive recall campaigns due to product defects or delayed market launches of products can be avoided and the guarantee costs remain low. In addition, the product quality is improved by these processes. These factors are particularly important to remain competitive in the market.

Great statements Thomas, let`s make the plant data more reliable together with our customers! "In data veritas" but also the vino should have it's place

Data and information in the right context are the foundation of digital twins.

Thanks for sharing this Thomas, indeed the next challenge is to bring the different world like OT and IT together.En reached with ET data from Engineering Base, you get the foundation for a digital twin.
