Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition is made up of SUPERHERO’S

That’s the theme for this year’s virtual gala and Baerclaw Productions is honored to once again help them share their story.

No Senior Left Isolated – that’s the vision of Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition (VVCC) and with the help of hundreds of volunteers, they provide support for adults, or their ‘neighbors’, who need assistance to maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life at home - without charge.

The services they provide include transportation to medical and other appointments, rides to the grocery store, shopping, and other errands, business assistance such as bill paying and sorting, and handy person help. Volunteers also provide respite assistance to in-home caregivers and patient scribe assistance during medical appointments.

Since 1992, they have been making an impact in the lives of thousands of neighbors around the Verde Valley and that became even more important with the onset of Covid-19.

What started with thousands of wellness check phone calls quickly evolved into a program to provide assistance in navigating the vaccination registration process, provide transportation to and from the resulting appointments, and ultimately a program to provide those vaccinations in the neighbors’ homes. According to Kent Ellsworth, the Executive Director of VVCC, “We have many older adults who are homebound, cannot drive, and are not able to navigate the online vaccination registration process. We want to do whatever we can to relieve this stress, keep them safe, and get them vaccinated.”

With appropriate safety precautions in place, we interviewed their executive director, a board member, volunteers and of course the people that they serve to better explain why they are SUPERHERO’S.

The end result is their Gala Video, social media clips to promote the event and the organization, a volunteer recruitment video and a video that they can share with potential donors so that they can continue the amazing work that they do!
