Veo team returns from United Soccer Coaches Convention with valuable insights from top industry professionals

January marks the start of a new year, and for football/soccer enthusiasts, it's an exciting time as it signifies the world's biggest summit for football/soccer coaches; The United Soccer Coaches Convention.

This year the convention took place in Philadelphia, and it was a fantastic convention. One of the highlights of the event for us was the key panel on the role of video and analysis in player development we had with Manchester United coaching alumni Mike Phelan and Dave Horrocks, as well as current Atlanta United Scout Jamie Henderson.

We had the opportunity to speak with Jono Callaghan, the US strategic partnership manager at Veo, and asked him about his key takeaways from the panel.

According to Jono, the panel emphasized the importance of video and analysis in player development at all levels. "Mike referenced many times how players in today's game are seeking information, and video is a format they understand and can relate to," he said.

The panel was well-attended, and Jono noted that it was a humbling experience to see so many people engage with the topic. "I think it speaks volumes to Veo's growing brand in the soccer community," he said. "Our guest speakers, Mike, Dave, and Jamie, did an amazing job of relating the topics to the elite game all the way down to grassroots."

In addition to the key panel, we also had the pleasure of meeting some of the industry's top professionals at our booth. We were thrilled to have Mike Phelan and the rest of the Sensible Soccer team at our booth, as well as our global ambassador, Carli Lloyd. She even took the time to sign her image on our booth and got an introduction to the new features we just launched on Veo Analytics.

"It was an honor to meet Carli Lloyd. As one of the greatest players of all time, her feedback on our new analytics features is invaluable. She even mentioned that it would have helped her a lot when she was younger.

If someone of Carli's caliber feels that we are truly building tools that are useful to the soccer community, then I am confident that Veo is moving in the right direction."

Overall, it was a great experience at the United Soccer Coaches convention, and we look forward to next year in Anaheim.
