Ventisquero Welcomes MW Fongyee Walker and her Students in Apalta

Renowned wine authority Fongyee Walker and five of her top students from her Wine School in Beijing journeyed to Ventisquero Wine Estates' Apalta Vineyard to dig deep into the heart of Chilean terroir.

This visit was part of Fongyee's exploration of Chile's "new wave" wine scene and a chance to refresh her extensive knowledge of our country's wines for her upcoming book.

Our winemakers, Felipe Tosso and Alejandro Galaz, guided Fongyee and her students through an extensive tasting of our vineyards and wines. The group was captivated by the unique characteristics of Apalta's clay and granite soils, which give exceptional complexity to the wines.

After the tasting, Fongyee and her students learned about the soil for Pangea wine with our winemakers in the vineyard. They enjoyed a delicious Chilean lunch afterward. We look forward to the positive impact of Fongyee's book on the perception of Chilean wines in China.
