Velon Live at the Giro d'Italia

VelonLive and RCS Sport will bring the fans inside the performance of their sporting heroes in a global first for technology in sport. Never before in an elite sporting event have so many professionals opened up their performance to let the fans into their world of pain, exhilaration and power.

Velon has partnered with the Giro d’Italia 2018 for the best teams and riders to give you a unique insight to the world’s hardest race. From the first stage to the last, you’ll see where the riders are, the power outputs, heart rates and speeds – even the number of times they’re spinning the cranks and the gradients they’re tackling. It’s all there live in the Velon app with interactive race map, race commentary, analysis and the fans sharing their pictures and thoughts on the race in the app’s race “Fan Zone” (to download the Velon app, go here for Android and Apple). 

Fans can also follow @VelonCC on Twitter for data “snaps” - all the big numbers as they’re recorded during the race as the riders challenge for the legendary Maglia Rosa.

VelonLive data will also appear on-screen in the live television coverage and both the official Giro d’Italia website and www.velon.cc bringing the daily battles to life in all race media. We’ll also provide a dedicated media service – a summary of those key moments for race journalists to use in their coverage.

After the Stage we’ll catch up with the riders who’ve made an impact on that day’s stage on camera and ask them to talk us through the big moments and their performance to give the fans the clearest ever view of what it really feels like to ride one of the world’s greatest races.
