The arrival of the holiday season is an opportune time of year to take time out as a result many people submit their annual leave, as they plan something special for the summer season. The well deserved wait for the festive season to follow suit allows all of us some quality time for rest, family time and much needed relaxation.
I woke up early this morning and as I walked through the streets of my neighborhood, I noticed many people heading out with their caravans hitched up, or their boat was prepped on their driveway ready for sea or river adventures. At this time of year the weather takes a turn for the warmer as beautiful balmy days become more abundant.
Enjoying an escape from home, family adventure, vacation or a romantic get away are an important part of all of our South African lifestyles and these activities play a pivotal part in our culture.As South Africans we are truly blessed with some of the most beautiful places to visit and many of these delightful destinations are only situated a few hours from our very doorsteps.
Having a braai or bbq for those overseas, while enjoying a piece of delicious boerewors, washed down with a thirst quenching beverage of your choice, is as much a part of our South African heritage as is our well known spirit for fun, adventure and outdoor living. The rainbow nation has a depth and diversity of some of the loveliest locations to linger around in for a few days. The majority of South African's enjoy exploring a variety of diverse and new destinations as we head out on the holiday road for a very African adventure.
