Vehicle Registration At Your Doorstep Now – Here’s How

Punjab Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics has announced another convenient service for the people of Punjab. Notably, the department?earlier announced?virtual registration for vehicle owners. As per a social media post by the department, citizens who have registered their vehicles but have yet to receive the cards can now visit its website and get a digital one. “The owners have to visit this?link?and enter their registration and chassis number to get a virtual card,” the department announced.

After getting the card, the owners can download the card and save it on their mobiles. In a tweet, the department announced it is “introducing Punjab’s first e-title document, E-Registration Card.”

Doorstep Service?

The second offer for the vehicle owners is doorstep service. Explaining the initiative, a senior official of the Excise department said that it is called “Dehliz,” and its?App?is available on our website and will soon be available on the Google App Store. “For the time being, this service is only available in Lahore as a pilot project, but we will expand it to the other cities soon,” he told us.

Sharing the functionality of the service, he stated that the citizen can get an appointment against different services like new registration, transfer, etc. “After the appointment, a rider from the department will visit that individual’s home, collect the documents, issue PSID, get the fee paid online, take biometric and then handover the registration file on the spot,” the officer explained, adding that in some cases like some imported or auctioned vehicles, the rider will take the file back to the office and return it after the process.

This App and initiative will surely help the citizens as the registration and transfer process for some can be tiring, or many don’t have time to visit the Excise office. Furthermore, these services will increase the number of registered cars in the province, bringing them into the legal net.
