Sorry, half my post was cut off - For over 15 years the use of Post-Tensioned Cintec anchors in Parking Garage Barrier Walls was probably the easiest retrofit system to prevent vehicle penetration which happened on several occasions in NYC. Now as an alternate or in conjunction with Cintec, RureGold cement based PBO fiber (FRCM) provides containment when anchored to the concrete columns. As easy to apply as stucco with a Class A Fire Rating it is the latest technology for this application. Considering New York State's new requirements for 5 year inspections on all parking garages I expect to see these solutions showing up in a lot more bid documents. The RureGold, with its ductile failure mode also helps contain the fractured CMU units as well.
