Tackling vegan misinformation?

This month The Vegan Society has been actively addressing the mixed messages and confusion surrounding vegan foods by tackling misinformation head-on.??

With vegan ‘ultra-processed’ foods and plant-based dairy alternatives (PBDAs) becoming controversial topics in the media, both have been making the headlines over the past few months. With so much conflicting information out there it’s easy for shoppers to feel overwhelmed and for misinformation to spread.??

The Vegan Society’s latest blog post explains the facts about PBDAs. Our in-house dietitian, Emily McKee, answers the common questions about PBDAs and the impact they have on the diets of adults and children.?

The latest episode of The Vegan Pod also dives into the controversy surrounding vegan ultra-processed foods. Joined by biologist Jenny Chapman, McKee explores how these foods are categorised, their environmental impact and the health implications of consuming vegan meat and dairy alternatives.??

Next-gen leather vegan certified?

We’re excited to announce that Leap, a next-gen leather alternative made from upcycled apple waste, has been certified by the Vegan Trademark!??

New report: Veganism and masculinity?

New research from The Vegan Society reveals that 41% of non-vegan men are either planning to go vegan or are interested in doing so.??

The latest report explores masculinity and veganism, highlighting that more men than expected are considering a shift to a vegan lifestyle. However, the findings also show that concerns about taste, health and nutrition remain significant barriers for many non-vegan men.?

For brands producing vegan products, this insight underscores the importance of recognising that there is no single ‘type’ of vegan consumer. Staying informed through industry research and consumer feedback is key to effectively connecting with a diverse audience.?
