"Apni baat Apno ke saath" is an initiative, a first of its kind being conducted by VeerNari Shakti Resettlement Foundation. This is their attempt to connecting with other Veer Naris.
The first edition of the same was held via a conference call on 17th October 2020. The motive of initiative was for Veer Naris to interact with each other. When a Soldiers wife suddenly loses her spouse, she has various thoughts going through her mind. Amidst that, if she gets the guidance from someone who has already been through all this and survived it, it just makes it a bit easier.
During these calls, the Veer Naris participants and the Veer Nari speaker discuss as to how their lives changed. For the initial few days, there is lot of sympathies and then it is a lonely struggle; discussions about the life of a Veer Nari which have never happened before. What began as a conference call was moved to Video Conference and the first session through video conferencing was held on 24th Oct. 2020. In this two day edition VeerNari Kavita Singh Talan from Indian Air Force, whose husband Airman Jasvendra Singh Talan lost his life on 15 Jul 2015 shared her experience with the other VeerNaris. She spoke about her journey with our Foundation, which started with 2017. She also gave information about the various programs she has been part of and how this association has benefitted her.
Another topic of discussion was the attitude of the family members and relatives, once a woman loses her husband, the way the people around her treated her and what she learnt from all this. As this is a conversation that is not often held, the session was very fruitful and the audience felt that they needed more time with Veer Nari Kavita. Hence, another session of the same duration was held the next i.e. 25th October 2020 where the discussion was focused on how to deal with the attitude of the in-laws and other family members. She also guided the others on how one should go about the procedures for the getting the compensation benefits and all the formalities related to that. She further explained in detail how being associated with the Foundation has been helpful to her. The session was ended with the representative of the Foundation, explaining to the Veer Naris in brief about their legal rights and that they could get in touch with VeerNari Shakti Resettlement Foundation, whenever they needed such advice. This is not all. The Foundation since then continue to have such weekly sessions in the near future too and the details of next session will be intimated soon. The video session was attended by VeerNaris from multiple Armed forces ( Indian Army, Indian Air Force & Assam Rifles ).
As many unfortunate incidents keep happening, there are more VeerNaris and the immediate need remains to get them counseled from someone who has been in this stage before. This makes it more imperative for such sessions to be conducted, to stay true to our commitment of standing by the VeerNaris. Few motivational volunteers too were invited during the follow-up sessions, Brig. Jayant Tiwari, Shaurya Chakra (Veteran); Capt. Purva (Veteran); Dr. Vandita Shrivastava ( Senior Scientist , ISRO ) and many more ... Jai Hind !!
