VCU 2020 Faculty Award Recipient

As I reflect on what would have been my graduation day, I can’t help but feel a wide variety of emotions. I’m sad thinking about my college experience being cut short with no ceremony to celebrate. I’m proud thinking about everything I’ve accomplished, graduating with honors, taking on leadership positions, and building relationships. I’m discouraged that I am entering the professional world while it's turned upside down. I’m hopeful knowing I’ve been prepared with the best education and the fact that I can only go up from here. But most of all, I am beaming knowing that VCU still managed to make me feel honored and believed in on my special day no matter what. 

I was recently notified by The Robertson School of Media and Culture at VCU that I am the recipient of the Spring 2020 Faculty Award for the Public Relations department and would have been recognized at graduation. This award is chosen by faculty in each department to a student they believe made an impact during their time at VCU. I am honored that I was chosen as this year's pick. To know my teachers voted for me and have continued to see something in me throughout my college career means the world. No matter what uncertainties this year continues to bring, I am so happy to leave VCU with such an honor. Thank you to all my professors, fellow students, and my family for making these four years the best of my life. Go Rams!
