The VC MIPI? Ecosystem: Your fast track to Embedded Vision Solutions

The VC MIPI? Ecosystem: Your fast track to Embedded Vision Solutions

It has been more than five years since we presented the first VC MIPI? Cameras. Since then, the camera modules have proven themselves in numerous applications and the VC MIPI? Ecosystem has made the development of complete embedded vision systems easier and faster than ever before.

VC MIPI? Camera Modules: The Industry Standard that redefines Embedded Vision

The MIPI interface has established itself as the gold standard for communication between camera modules and processors in mobile systems. From the very beginning, the camera modules were interesting for embedded vision applications due to their connectors, their compact design and their low power consumption.

At Vision Components GmbH , we recognized the potential of MIPI. With VC MIPI? Cameras we combine the high compatibility of the MIPI-CSI 2 interface with industrial-grade design.

Exhibition of the first VC MIPI? cameras in our production facility in Ettlingen, Germany.

The camera modules are developed and manufactured in Germany and are characterized by their durability and long-term availability. We also offer a wide range of sensors, allowing VC MIPI? Cameras to be used in applications with a wide variety of requirements.

Reduced Development Times with the VC MIPI? Ecosystem

VC MIPI? Modules are more than just cameras; they are part of an entire MIPI Ecosystem.

This ecosystem is a combination of different components that are specially adapted to the MIPI interface. Starting with the preferred sensor and the processor board of your choice, a complete embedded vision system can be developed. We offer perfectly matched accessories, such as cables, drivers, lighting, etc . This enables developers to realize their systems faster and more efficiently than ever before.

The VC MIPI? ecosystem enables the flexible and rapid development of complete embedded vision solutions.

Complex Image Processing with FPGA Programming

With the VC Power SoM , we are expanding the range of possibilities in embedded vision applications. The compact FPGA-based hardware accelerator fits seamlessly into our MIPI portfolio and offers a platform for demanding applications that require fast image processing and analysis. This includes tasks such as color space conversions, barcode identification, or data fusion of stereo vision and multi-camera applications.

The hands-on workshop will improve your knowledge of FPGA programming for embedded vision.

If you would like to learn more about FPGA programming for embedded vision, I have a special recommendation for you: On April 23rd, we are organizing a hands-on workshop in Ettlingen together with Efinix, Inc. , where you can expand your know-how on implementing vision algorithms on FPGAs. In the extensive practical part of the seminar, you will program your own algorithms for typical applications such as image storage, image enhancement, color space conversion and pattern recognition based on case studies. Furthermore, you will receive important tips for use in your own projects.

The workshop spaces are limited, so make sure you save your spot quickly! I look forward to seeing you in Ettlingen very soon.

VC MIPI? Cameras are everywhere: Even in the Outer Space

Whether you're working in automation, medical technology or another highly specialized sector, VC MIPI? Modules offer a customized solution that can shorten your development times and maximize the performance of your applications. For our latest project in collaboration with the ZfT – Center for Telematics e.V. , our MIPI cameras are taking things quite literally to a whole new space.

VC MIPI? cameras have been integrated into nano-satellites for earth observation.

VC MIPI? Cameras were integrated into a series of nano-satellites for earth observation as part of of an international research mission. These satellites will be used to collect data in space to enable early warning systems to predict environmental incidents.

In combination with a processor board, VC MIPI? cameras enable the transmission of image data to the base station on earth.

We have developed a customized connector for the particularly space-saving integration of the MIPI cameras into the satellites. The VC MIPI? Cameras are connected to Raspberry Pi processor boards to control the cameras and to store and transmit the image data to the base station on earth.

The MIPI Story continues: Meet us at Embedded World

My team and I will be at the embedded world Exhibition&Conference again this year. At our booth you can get an overview of our wide range of MIPI camera modules and components of the VC MIPI? Ecosystem and learn more about the fast and cost-effective integration of embedded vision with VC MIPI? Cameras.
