Turning wind power into plannable power – with hydrogen

What to know: Turning weather dependent wind power into plannable energy might soon be a reality. With wind turbines that produce storable hydrogen rather than electricity, the energy can be used even when there is no wind.

?Why it matters: Flexibility is key to a reliable energy system when we depend more on wind and sun. Hydrogen as an energy carrier can turn weather dependent wind power into a more predictable energy source – making it possible to expand the production of fossil free energy.

How sugar kelp and wind turbines can improve marine ecosystems

What: Blue mussels, sugar kelp, sea lettuce and dulse will be produced on lines at an offshore wind farm in the North Sea.

Why: Demand for food with a low climate footprint is increasing, and an offshore wind farm could provide favourable conditions for underwater farming.

Lessons learned from quitting whale oil

Whale oil was the main energy source for illumination in Europe and the US 200 years ago. The near extinction of whales prompted a transition and fossil oil replaced the oil from the world’s largest mammals, which seemed a great solution at the time. That historic energy transition offers many valuable lessons for us today, writes The Guardian .

Wind and solar energy are an essential element in the #EnergyTransition. However, there should be more interest from the large electricity producing companies for an upcoming and until now unreachable energy source: #DeepGeothermalEnergy At 20km below the earth surface it is 500 degrees Celsius. And not only in specific places in the world, but everywhere. Drilling to this depth will be cost efficient in the coming years. These temperatures will make it possible to convert fossil fuel electricity plants to be fed by geothermal heat. Double closed loop systems allow the operation of extracting heat from deep in the surface to be isolated to only extract heat without pollution (sulfa’s, heavy metals). The benefits of #DeppGeothermalEnergy: - less use of rare earth metals than wind or solar - less earth surface use than wind or solar - no c02 emissions - near unlimited amount of energy (enough for millions of years) - no fuel - no waste - save to operate - everywhere available: no dependency on other countries - 24 / 7 available - scalable to TW capacity Several companies are working on making drilling to these depths cost effective: Quaise Energy GA Drilling Eavor Technologies Inc. And others…

We can cover the windmills in the North Sea with our special solar panel, 155 watt WRAP panel, so that they can provide extra energy, but with our panel placed on the water and connected to the existing network with an extra battery. Special statement? RPower Effective solar system is unbeatable in weight, performance and longevity. Breaking the frontier of reality over the past sixteen years is now commercially available worldwide. No, factual, proven and completely 'Grunt Proof'. Designed, created and manufactured for specialized use by the US military over the last sixteen years, this evolutionary solar solution is the most efficient in the solar energy market today. We're going to be incredibly sustainable. * The system is already very sustainable, 100% circular. * Operates 4015 hours on light, not 1660 hours of sunlight. * A glass panel takes about 35 minutes to produce energy. The HaHe Energeo 'RPower' panel needs about 8 minutes to collect energy. https://youtu.be/dCXFqnhwiZc https://youtu.be/B4_RfaZDC6w
