Varun Ki Nauka

VARUN is one of the key Devataas in the Vedic Literature. Devataa means anyone / anything who / which possesses notable quantum of specified God’s greatness.

The closest English meaning of Varun is ‘Atmosphere’. Infact, the word environment from en""in" + viron:"circle, circuit which my guess comes from the word Varun. "To be able to create an atmosphere for progressive living is Greatness of God. Whosover / whatsoever possess such a quality can be called Varun. For example air can be called Varun. A king who creates a progressive economy can be called Varun. An offcourse God can also be called Varun.

RigVed 7.88.3 states that ‘Human Body to the Soul in Bhavsagar is same as Varun to the Ship in Sea’.

The business leaders creating an organisation which prospers along with the employees, customers, society and country, certainly are also Varuns. As a risk-control guy, I see the whole set of Governance, policies and procedures to be the atmoshphere that the Varuns have to ensure.
